According to a CNBC article, the new movie, "Jonas Brothers: The 3-D Concert Experience" wasn't as much of an experience as Disney might have hoped. The film brought in a disappointing $12.7 million in its opening weekend (as opposed to the $30 million raked in by the Hannah Montana 3-D movie).
Critics panned the film as being lackluster and unimaginative. According to the article linked above, the movie doesn't take real advantage of the 3-D setting. I can only guess the director didn't want to overdo the 3-D gags and, in turn, went too far and didn't do enough.
I guess Disney is pinning its hopes of success for this project on upcoming DVD and soundtrack CD sales.
